2. Definition of the HPaIP field
a Name and definition of the content of the HPaIP field
(draw the content definition from the description of the field of study to which the HPaIP field is assigned – state the main topics of the core knowledge of the field of study from the Decree No. 244/2019 Coll. of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sports of the Slovak Republic on the system of fields of study in the Slovak Republic)

HPaIP branch: Transport Services

Content definition of the HPaIP department—supporting topics:

The content definition of the department of HPaIP Transport Services includes applied and interdisciplinary knowledge related to technology, operation, safety, and quality of road, rail, water, and air transport, pipeline and corporate transport, logistics, postal and information and communication services (in non-production as well as in production enterprises) at all levels of industry. The main themes of the department's definition respect the type of transport and the nature of the services provided. The main topics are: mathematical and physical foundations (mathematics, physics, informatics, statistics, graph theory, mass service theory, decision theory, logistics theory, operational and system analysis, electrical engineering, electronics, mechanical engineering), legal order, quality management, transport safety and the human factor in systems and processes, management and economics (economics of transport and network enterprises and processes, business and financial management, management, marketing, accounting), transport and communication systems, technologies in transport, mail and electronic communications, materials, control and instrument systems, sensors, navigation, maintenance, drives), transport and systems (construction of traffic, connections, pipe systems, and pipelines), transport and systems (construction of traffic, connections, and drives), transport and connections, logistics (commercial, transport, distribution, reverse, industrial logistics, forwarding, transport and postal services, telematics, material handling, multimodal transport), modelling and simulation (CAX technologies, modelling and simulation of electrotechnical and electronic systems and circuits, modelling, simulation, and optimization of transport, communication, and processes, economic efficiency, quality, impact on the environment). Furthermore, they include the theoretical foundations of mechanics of solid bodies and fluids, statistics, dynamics, cybernetics, and selected electronic, electrotechnical, or engineering disciplines, for understanding transport, information and communication means, and principles of transport activities in the context of ethical and environmental aspects in the field of study, at the national and international level. Other definitions of the field are tied to the education of personnel for the performance of professions and licenced activities (obtaining authorization for the performance of a regulated profession) in road, rail, water, air and multimodal transport and in logistics, in transport, transport and postal systems and processes and systems of electronic communications, in construction, maintenance, operation, and service of relevant equipment and technologies in individual modes of transport, in logistics, in forwarding, in transport or postal and information and communication services, according to relevant international and national regulations.

b Name of the field of study (1 or 2) to which the HPaIP field is assigned
(description of the field of study (1 or 2) from the Decree No. 244/2019 Coll. of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sports of the Slovak Republic on the system of fields of study in the Slovak Republic)

Field of study 5. Transport

c The content definition of the HPaIP field must be as close as possible to the field of study (1 or 2) to which it is assigned
(indicate here the area and scope of knowledge for the third level (point 4) from the Decree No. 244/2019 Coll. of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sports of the Slovak Republic on the system of fields of study in the Slovak Republic)

The department contains applied and interdisciplinary knowledge tied to the methods of basic and applied research in the field of transport and distribution services, forwarding, distribution, and logistics within the field of study transport. He has extensive professional knowledge of transport services, forwarding, and logistics, which serve him as a basis for carrying out research and development and creating new knowledge in the transport field of study.
The content and focus of the department respect the type of transport and the nature of the services provided in transport, including knowledge of the transport and transport technology of individual transport modes, the creation of a logistics chain and support by information and communication technologies. The main topics of the core of knowledge, skills and competences are information systems in the management of transport processes and in logistics; statistics; graph theory; mass service theory; decision theory; logistics theory; operational and system analysis; legal aspects of transport; quality management; transport safety and the human factor in systems and processes; economics of transport and network enterprises and processes; technologies in transport; mail and electronic communications; means of transport and systems (construction of transport, communication, unmanned and space systems, autonomous vehicles); transport engineering and transport infrastructure; transport infrastructure capacity; transport network flows; transport integration; intelligent transport systems; forwarding; transport and postal services; telematics; multimodal transport); modelling and simulation; optimization of transport connections; economic efficiency, quality, and impact on the life environment.
The graduate is able to formulate new hypotheses and strategies for further research and development of the transport field of study. He applies his own theoretical analysis and complex scientific research findings in the field of higher education in the field of transport technology and technology, as well as in the field of transport operation and economics within the field of study transport. Based on his outputs and findings, he can design, verify, and implement new research and work procedures.
Other supporting topics of the knowledge core of the HPaIP transport department are tied to the graduate's pedagogical and research profile, which are determined by the applicant's scientific school, i.e., the applicant's individual research focus. An important part of the content definition is cooperation with practice, participation in the solution of research and business projects, opposing studies, etc., which fall under the field of HPaIP.
